...and those who are interested in details:
Maybe it's not a big thing, but I'd like to share with you my observation: HACO used 2 types of templates. 1st type logo has outer circle much thinner than the inner circle. The distances between letters in word BERLIN are smaller and the letter E has different shape then in logo #2. These two types of maker marks are matched with appropriate type of mottos. At least I've never seen different combination. What about your HACO daggers, guys? Do they have also the certain type of logo coming with the certain type of motto(1-1,2-2)?

777, Very nice SA's and a very interesting observation. I love the minute details that separate different makers and era's that individual makers go though! Kevin.

Very interesting. I believe that Kobers have a couple templates too that reflect the thin vs thick lines. Haco's are unique and always a treat. I try to buy 'em when ever I can. For those who have all the makers... Now you can collect maker mark variations!! Thick, thin, sideways, up and down, stamped, or etched. Oh my will it ever end... Hope not!!

Very nice Adam and a great informational find!! My Haco has the #2 template. I have noticed between the 2 mottos you posted that there are some slight variations in the thickness of the type.,, the serifs especially on the "H" and "D" and the spacing inside the letters. very cool. Thanks again Adam. Regards Larry BTW the crossgrain on both of your examples especially #2 are outstanding. hard to find any Haco with crossgrain like that!

Just great! You can usually pick out a Haco from the lighter grips and unusual grain. I used to have a nice one with a very light grip. I let it go because of some minor blade flaws. I figured I would buy an upgrade in a few months when one turned up… that was7 years ago…. HOLD ONTO THEM! GREAT daggers, thanks for sharing and thank you for the info on the mark variations. Good hunting, Johnny

Here is mine guys, it looks like mine is a number 2 type maker and motto, although my dagger is a Rohm dagger it looks pretty much the same as the type 2 you posted on the other page, although the inside ring on my maker mark looks a bit fatter than the outside ring it may just be the photo??? Regards
