I believe they were made (assembled) from leftover stock and sold to the GI's that were occupying germany at the end of the war.

Interesting fact- the blades came with 3 variations- the etched motto on the obverse could be clear (just etched with acid), blackened as usually seen, or gold in the etching. MJM

I think all major parts manufactured just post war as B&A not a recognised period maker and hilts are moulded plastic not carved wood never have scabbards probably too complicated to make.I.e opportunist Germans satifying the occupying forces needs just like the "Field Day " daggers we also see
Post war but becoming collectable in their own right by some folk just like some of Attwood's creations and the high end "grown in Egham UK" daggers of the 70's

Were'nt the B&A put together by James Atwood in the 60's. leftover stock with plastic grips
