hello, a friend of me have this dagger in his collection. There are no marker mark on the blade. Fittings look like Aluminium? What do you say to this dagger?

It's been speculated that this was the First model railway dagger. I've heard from some collectors and dealers over the years that it may or may not be such.

Guard and pommel do look Aluminum, are they light compared to regular fittings? Are the imperfections on the guard and pommel plating loss or are they on the surface as they would have to be to be aluminum? I have seen zink based fittings shine up like this... Very "Pack" produced looking dagger all around. I cant say as far as the railway applications, not up on those. Kevin.

Has someone painted that handle? May just be my eyes but it looked painted (good job) to me.
Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. And remember the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Weird setup. I have had my fair share of first model railways (all have been Klaas, the one most people look for and is the most accepted model) all have have a dark purple almost translunce handle when held up to the light.

oli, To me the pommel looks strange. No definition to the edges of the oak leaves, it's just a curved line that goes down around the acorn and up to the next leaf. The bottom of the leaves look too wide and they touch each other, no space between them. Rich

I would certainly pass IMO the grip shape looks odd to me and the hilt fittings although they may be original something about them doesn’t seem quite right.

Poor quality dagger - the "railway" klaases that I had in my hand and this would be like 3 of them were all good quality solid pommel and crosguard. THis i do not like.

I wouldn`t touch it at any price, period. Looks like a put together to me.
