I just got a new SA Dagger with lower scabbard fitting screws that are loose and I can not get tight any suggestions on how to repair this is apreciated. Regards, Jeff

Did you inspect thoroughly,,maybe its just the screws that are stripped?

if it is the holes you have some pretty slick guys here,,they should come up with a solution for you,,,hopefully!

Is the dagger early or late?

Siegfried, It is a near mint Early SA Dagger I picked up from someone in the parking Lot (Really) of the TNN military collectors show last week. It's Maker Marked EWALD CLEFF Crossgard stamped Ho. The only problem I see with it is the loose lower screws. There not falling out just loose. I will try to post Dagger pics later. Regards, Jeff

Many have trouble replacing missing screws. It's best to realign the fitting to the underlying scabbard body 1st with a tapered pin. I have a tool specifically for this purpose and it likely has a proper name, sorry don't know what it's called. Finally if you retap the hole with the right tap then use a proper sized screwdriver, you will find the screw fits perfect. It's a finesse job not one for a blacksmith!!!
Yes, it takes a bit of time with the right tools and the result is an undamaged screw in place. I swear most guys do not use the right tools to do this is the result is a buggered screw that they have forced.
