Can anybody help me to date and tell me more about this German Hirschfanger made in Solingen with nice etchings on both sides?

It's really hard to see from the images, but if this is what I think it might be, you could push that date back maybe 40 (?) or so years. With the style of engraving on this blade as a reference. FP

I think FP is right. The pictures are to bright to see anything clear. Interesting stuff on the blade. Would you mind providing better pictures of the writing and designs on the blade as well as the lion head pommel. Would you say it's in the Bayern style?..Thanks

I'm afraid that the blade pictures are still 'washed out' (ie: too much glare from lighting). But even so, I think that I can see some engraving that would make this an earlier piece (another comparison example attached). With your example looking like a very nice hunting sidearm. smile FP

I shall sell it on behalf of an estate. It has belonged to a German Paratrooper from WW2. I want to be fair to the estate and also be able to sell it on their behalf. Is $200 a fair price?
