Yea thats right, heres the story... I had one of my sa daggers laid out on my bed out of scabbard, i got called to another room and forgotten i had it laid out on the edge of my bed. I came back later forgetting about it and sat on the edge of the bed, right onto the point of the sa dagger, ouch. At first i didnt think it was that bad but it started bleeding like a garden hose. Luckily my fiancee was able to call paramedics and i was rushed to the hospital, after a blood transfusion of 7 units of o- and two units of plasma and 1 rbc and 24 staples, i was stable. The tip of the sa severed my poplateal artery and i nearly bled to death. Lesson to be learned never ever leave an sa dagger unattended, i never really liked sa daggers anyhow just thought i would share my momoent of stupidness, whistle i knew i should have stuck to armys and lufts haha ps it wasnt even a nice early maker it was a damned rzm!!!

Yikes! As bad as it is, glad it was no worse. I've nicked myself a time to two with dagger tips, but nothing like this.

Roy,
That Sir is one crazy story!!! The average human adult has 10 pints of blood and you needed 7 units. I would consider that a very close call.

Now it's time to change your quote to, "Drive Fast and Take Chances and put all daggers back in their scabbards"

Glad to hear all is well.

Rich

Roy, good to hear that everything is ok and that you now have something different for show and tell!

Don't listen to Denny, you should have applied a light coating of Renwax before the ambulance got there.

Glad your okay! Boy is that a freakish accident. As you now know it doesn't take much for the tip of a blade to enter flesh. We had two privates one time practice knife fighting with their bayonets. One went to kick the other but instead kicked the bayonet. Yep, went clean through the calf muscle, like a stick of butter!

thanks for the kind words guys, re learning how to walk is tougher than i imagined, hats off to everyone who has had to have a cathedar in there lifetime not fun for 5 days going in or coming out, when the male nurse lifted the blanket and said it wouldnt hurt when he yanked out the tube (felt like razor blades) i knew he was lying, lucky me i guess, 4 hours of surgery and had to be recesitated, I have O- blood and donate all the time, after you donate i think 20 units they can never charge you for blood for the rest of your life so i had a little bonus whistle oh and the sa now lies in the murky depths of a deep ore mine that flooded in the early 1900's that we call the Ore Hole that has great bass fishing right down the road from me, so the values of sa's should go up as i tossed the bit.ch...it was in fine condition to boot. Maybe someone will snag the hanger ring some day that would be a hoot.
thanks for the words gents the only thing i saw when i was out were big snow capped mountains and woods no light and no tunnel so there we have it,

[Hopefully that catheter won't mess you up years later [scar tissue from insertion and extraction = flow problem].]

Dam, too bad no one to sue!,anyway at least you got a cool looking scar..

I would have done way worse than toss it! , Re shape it into my slave bitch steak knife,,,weld it to a H-D ratchet lid handle ,,etc.

* Hope you have a speedy recovery.....

Never heard a story like this but I'm sure it's happened before.
You got the business end of a dagger...it drew 'Last Blood'.

Sounds like a real close call. Have a full recovery and Take Care.

Roy,

That's one nasty wound!! shocked shocked I'm very glad that you are better and hope that the recovery keeps going well, with a good prognosis for the future. And don't let them give you a hard time about the dagger. It was disloyal and needed to take a hike. Think of it as "sleeping with the fishes". whistle

Oh Roy, your my favorite housewife.

Last year you were almost on TV (Jerry Springer?), this year almost eviscerated by an immobile dagger.

The drama is amazing...

Take care!
This hobby os obviously dangerous…

I just heard of the story, pretty nasty cut mate.
I think your SA dagger has become more valuable as a collector's artifact, just imagine what you could write in the description, " this dagger has actual vet blood on the blade ".
Glad to hear you're fine.
