Hi, got this 44 asw on its way , seen a load of these with wood grips over the years , was it due to horster being a large manufacturer and having a larger surplus of wood grips? regards will

Well it arrived yesterday ! , and i'm gutted , nice blade, nice grips , but PAINTED scabbard argghhh , did not notice it on the sellers pics , its a good paint job to be fair to whoever did it but i;m sure its going to hinder the overall resale price when i eventually sell my collection , any thoughts on what to do with the scabbard? do i strip and cold blue it (this will of course be disclosed to the future buyers, most would spot it a mile off anyway) shame everything else is great about it ! p.s. andy if you want for your data base 44asw 7001 "h" block i think? thanks , will.

Thanks it looks probably as letter k? anyway You probably should slightly remove the paint on small part and maybe there is a remains of old blueing, the 44asw, was very faint blued on surface, and when there is not a polished surface i would personally remove the paint. When is totally polished under paint, i would remain it in this condition then.
