Have not a clue, but have been in the racket long enough to know that when there is a 100% fake/or better..fantasy marking such as BIG SS-BW in a weird looking cap, it is garbage. And Proxi Bid/ and LiveAuctioneer are rampant with fake/fantasy/repro TR militaria being passed off as genuine in auction companies. Now, PB and Live. has no responsibility, as they are just an internet access provider, but I cound give you a list of all the *regular*auction companies that subscribe to their services on a regular basis ,that most all of their offered Tr militaria is crap. And the same companies offer the exact same TR fake/fantasy/repro time and time again.

Looking at this cap, with a single button flap (more rare) the SS-BW stamp makes me think twice buying this cap. On top of that are the vague pictures. No close-ups and so on.

The trap insignia for sure has the tell-tale edging of a REPRO - can't say that I like anything about the rest of the cap either ..

These stitched " teeth " can best be seen on the reverse . A common feature on reproductions , this was probably done to give it a sort of cap-removed appearance ..

the SS-BW marking is sorta close.... the SS is the wrong style , & stamping in all is to big. going off my 1944 original. no comments on the insignia , mine Was a 2 piece which was removed long before I got the hat. sounds like you should Pass on this hat. jeff
