Hi guys
Today I found this earliest 1934 K98 bayonet by Pack for my collection.
The bad thing is that scabbard not matching.
Anybody know what's mean the scabbard marking?

Regards
Stingray

Stingray:

Scabbard matching means that the maker, the year and the number on the scabbard should be the same as the maker, the year and the serial number on the blade.

WuK is the manufacturer.

AS 1042 is some kind of unit number, I think.

The WuK scabbard is probably made in 1927-30, AS 1042 means with high possibility a Artillery School, weapons nr.1042. So the scabbard is from Reichwehr production earlier made about 7-5 years as the bayonet.

That's really nice...the 364th bayo made by Pack in the first year of official 3rd Reich production in 1934. Might have even been made the first day, I'll have to look for my production figures.

I've been looking through all my old saved stuff on the computer and haven't found it. I'm pretty sure I got it off the old BCN site, maybe someone else has it available.

I'll keep looking.

Sorry.
