A group of rings from a recent auction. I know the pics are poor but any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Dr.. this day and age you got to do way better on those photos! Top, 1st one,,is the skull separate?, markings? 2nd,need better photos 3rd, no good 4th, better photos,, and of sides,,markings? 5th, straight on shot, and inside band 6th and 7th,, better photos.. * Please members,,some quick tips if you want opinions on your pieces.. List hallmarks if any. Always include a straight on frontal shot,, Straight on shot of at least one side. Shot inside band behind cartouche and one of markings. Good lighting, no glare, and in focus helps immensely!

I would contact them for more images, if they want the sale they will be prepared to help. I have doubts on all of them at first glance, some could be early catalouge copys.

* photos 1st always before the money!
#1 , #5 , #7 could be the best bets for maybe an authentic ring.

#1 and #2 were the rings I bid on and won. I didn't pay much for them. I will take better photos when the rings arrive. Thanks

Got the rings in the mail. Unfortunately my photographic skills aren't much better than the auctions. Ring one, it appears the skull is separate from band, no marks.

Ring two. I'm not as comfortable with this ring now that I have it in hand. Not finished well on inside. Hallmark appears cast. Thanks for all opinions.

Ring two does not look good, the hallmarks are not clear enough, I was taught the band on the inside even on ground finds should be very well finished, however there does appear to be a brass colouring to the join which I find odd?. Ring one, try and get some good pictures of the skull against the band. This is a very common design, I have two good examples and a good fake (where the skull has been etched around the band to look seperate). Although not always stamped or a seam can be seen, even under hard wear the skull has always appeared to be the same, the skull on this one seems differant, the bones are correct for the design though. Clearer pictures will be needed once again, how were four and six?.

IF you can really see that the skull was affixed on separately its a good early one..
2nd ring,skull & Snakes,,you can now see faults on the ring,,a copy...
IF you can try and get a good photo of the hallmarks for all us to study..

Here is another ebay offering similar to the ring I won. At least my reproduction ring looks a little better than this one.
