This appeared in the Washington Post yesterday, perhaps intentionally so given that it was the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/nati...ybdO_story.html I am shocked, appalled, and disgusted at such a disgraceful treatment of the remains of our fallen servicemen - especially at the hands of the very armed forces that they volunteered to join and serve. I think that every single member of the USAF that was involved in making this decision should be court-martialed and dishonorably discharged. There is no excuse for such conduct. T.

Absolutely despicable, heads should roll for that. I believe [the powers that be] gave bin laden a much more dignified sendoff than that.

If you read the article it clearly says that the 274 documented cases, (perhaps more undocumented during, before or after?) happened between 2004-2008. Anyway no need to politicize it regardless of whose watch it happened under.

just re-read it and the article goes on to say that more then 2,700 remains were disposed of in that manner but that the practice was stopped in 2008.

I agree, there's no political overtones to this story, and I doubt that even the administration that was in place during the time these acts occurred had any knowledge, much less oversight, of what happened.
Doesn't make the whole thing any less reprehensible.
