I found this K98 frog with some interesting markings.... Looks like.. P.Zug.7J.R.8.L1 I tried to research these markings, and the only thing I found is that "Zug" translated means "Train"....... Anyone have any info about these markings?....... Thanks......Dave

"Zug" in this case may not be translated to "train" but to "platoon". I am not into units an the marking cannot be well read but what I can read is .. platoon / infantry regiment 8 ... Regards,

It could be Pionier Zug, which means a pioneer squad or team of 8.Infantry Regiment, I.Battalion?

Yes.....Pioneer perhaps......A little more research on Wiki indicates the 8th infantry, Later known as 8th Jager, saw action in the invasion of Poland, France, and later on the eastern front where they surrendered to Russian forces, Post May 45.
