Poor fit of the stag grip-that's for sure.

In my humble opinion a period/original HRSTER DSchV dagger but with privately replaced grip. I think the original grip was broken (perhaps even during the period; we know these grips are/were like egg shells) and was replaced by a privately made and fitted (see the already mentioned poor fit) stag horn grip.

Please can you show us how the DSchV emblem is pinned? In pic 8 and 9 (the same image) the crossguard seems lacking the emblem. Was it glued???

Mr. Wotan you step photographs that
I asked.
a greeting
Toni

Note: Tell that to me seems totally original .... is not very common but a dagger of the association of horn-fisted shot ..... Could the two groups belong to the owner? I think so ....

I agree with wags, the piece is original with a replaced grip with the original crossed rifles added.

@ palante125: When you keep in mind that DSchV-daggers are not in masses on the market and those with cracked grips are by far the most ones which do exist (I persoanlly think that on 20-25 existing daggers with cracked grip do come only 1 with unharmed grip) I cannot imagine you could find an original, undamaged spare grip.
But on the other hand nearly all is possible in our hobby but the chance is very very small imo.
