Poor fit of the stag grip-that's for sure.

In my humble opinion a period/original HRSTER DSchV dagger but with privately replaced grip. I think the original grip was broken (perhaps even during the period; we know these grips are/were like egg shells) and was replaced by a privately made and fitted (see the already mentioned poor fit) stag horn grip. Please can you show us how the DSchV emblem is pinned? In pic 8 and 9 (the same image) the crossguard seems lacking the emblem. Was it glued??? Regards,

Mr. Wotan you step photographs that I asked. a greeting Toni Note: Tell that to me seems totally original .... is not very common but a dagger of the association of horn-fisted shot ..... Could the two groups belong to the owner? I think so .... I agree with wags, the piece is original with a replaced grip with the original crossed rifles added.

@ palante125: When you keep in mind that DSchV-daggers are not in masses on the market and those with cracked grips are by far the most ones which do exist (I persoanlly think that on 20-25 existing daggers with cracked grip do come only 1 with unharmed grip) I cannot imagine you could find an original, undamaged spare grip. But on the other hand nearly all is possible in our hobby but the chance is very very small imo. Regards,
