it figuers...i knew enough to doubt it. but those bidders on ebay all seem to be unaware of this fake stuff, but still get into the frinzy of it all and will end up making crazy bids. wish i had money to burn it would get well invested in the real deals out there.

This dagger, which I believe is of Spanish origin is from the late 60s early 70s, and came as part of a collection I bought several years ago so there's no individual cost associated with it. The person I got it from quit colecting in the early 70s so I know it's no newer than that. While it looks good there are no original parts that I can identify. However if a real damascus blade was substituted for the etched copy which is in place this dagger would be a fooler.

Sent the seller this

Hi

This dagger is 100% fake im afraid, probably spainish reproduction from the 60s or 70s.

Please dont sell it as real as that is really unfair to the buyer

He sent me this

No where in my description does it say this is 100% genuine pre may 1945 Nazi era issue.

It is most definitly NOT a Spanish Copy either, Likely a high quality Museum Copy but anyway there is no need for me to explain anything

I sent him back this

No where in your description does it say it is 100% fake?. Its a thirty dollar copy.

It sure would seem so to me! These Adam Henry's are just lowlife scumbags!

Well, I wrote this to the seller last night:

Dear colt73,

Do you guarantee this to be original WWII?

Thanks!

- daggerdenman

He answered as follows:

Sorry, No. I feel some parts are but the blade may be post War from what i am hearing. Also could be a high end Museum Copy. It is NOT some cheap Spanish or Chinese copy. Check out results from Greg Martins March 2010 Auction where there are a couple similar.

Regards, Tim

So, there you have it right from the seller!
(I have NO idea who Greg Martins is, anyone know?)

Greg Martin is a California Auction house that generally specializes in firearms auctions. They'll sell just about anything including 3rd Reich items. However; Based upon my observations in the past, they are essentially clueless inre. to the 3rd Reich items they sell and I expect they rely on the descriptions provided by the consignors.
IMO: I don't see anything about this dagger pictured above that looks period.
