I agree about the rune button. The sig runes are very thin and wide apart. Never seen a button like it. On the other hand, the golden patina on the circle and the runes is almost impossible to fake...

Looking at Hendriks dagger I scratch my head, hard to tell I have not seen this type of runes before.

Here's an 807/37 maker mark for comparison

I know this is a late RZM,, but it looks strange to see the tang nut totally rusted. Are the crossguards nickel?

Thank you guys :-)
I think the crossguads are zink.
I don't have it yet. I might buy it, with return option of course..
I compared the eagle with the one in Siegers SS book, and it has the same stubby/poor details as the one in his book.
I'll post better pics. when it's here.

Well now it's here.. And I don't know what to think...
Grip looks right. Only 27g, but I guess thatis acceptable. SS rune is enamel, not painted. Scabbard looks good too. Crossguards? Nickle I belive, way to heavy for zink.
But the blade really disturbs me. Tang is not what I like to see. The tip is also wrong. And the "Colour" of the blade, having shadows on it, not what I have seen before.

I agree, some things here raise red flags. The quality of the Maker mark etch is not good(see my 37 example) the tang looks like a reproduction shape. The cross guards look like cast copies, no hand applied accent grooves. Let's see what the others think.

Here is my 807 RZM and I have to agree that the 36 blade that you have here looks odd but could it have been buffed down??? Have they ever figured out the maker on these blades?

Henrik, this is garbage. There is no way you should spend another minute looking at it. Trust me bargains in this hobby often are not...

I will have to see if I still have the pictures, but I recently saw another example with some of the same characteristics (minus the artificial aging). That was believed to have been from Eastern Europe (?). FP
