As many of you know, my wife, Susan, and I started "A Grateful Nation" shortly after 9-11-01. Our sole purpose has been to procure goods and ship them over to the troops fighting the war on terror. As of this spring we passed the 10 TON mark for goods actually delivered. All of his has been done through donations of both goods and cash. There has never been any charge to any of the troops for either the goods or the shipping. Some of our forum members have actually been the recipients of these goods while on active duty.
Through the years, a few formum members have been more than generous to us. "Mr. Jerry, Zet, Bernie Brule and Patrice Vialle" have just been outstanding.
With the wind down in Iraq, donations have slowed as well. So last spring I decided to build a real "Patch Blanket" as a fundraiser. Mr. Jerry sent us a WW II US Army blanket to start. Then many of the troops we've supplied and their friends sent us patches, pins, badges and even medals to use. Today we have insignia from the US, Canada, Belgium, Holland, Japan and Poland, with much more promised.
As you can see we're about 60% finished. I was hoping to have the blanket complete by the MAX Show but will miss it by a few months. If you, any relatives or friends have anything to add, send it on, we'll use it. By the time this blanket is finished it will have several thousand dollars worth of insignia on it.
The blanket will be raffled off, with 100% of the proceeds going back into serving the troops that serve us.
You can help out by buying a chance at $10 each through Paypal or sending us either cash or checks. Paypal is probably the safest. Last but not least, you can stop by and see us at the MAX Show, we'll have the blanket with us. We have filed for a 501(c)(3) classification with the IRS, so this is no scam.
We're hoping for a very positive response.
Serving the Troops That Serve Us,
"A Grateful Nation"

That is a great project my friend and too bad I can't make it to the Max this year.
You've done more for the boys out there than all of us combined, good work and all the best.
