Hello, I'd like your impressions on this helmet decal SS 42 manufacturing HKP We clearly observe that there is a lack of thickness of the outer black border on the bottom of any decal, but it bothers me ... Personally I think the runes are proportionate and very fine The rivets stick perfectly, for against the banding does not seem consistent, what is relevant to the large size of the shell (68)? or replacement period Thank you in advance for your help

Good evening, No there is no thickness between the decal and the shell The surface is almost Planner. The borders of this thickness are, they are listed in several books on SS helmets.

Because it does not conform to any known original decals. It has no similarities to the decal that should be found on a hkp helmet. It is trying to copy a CKL or ET decal and they defaced the bottom because it is round opposed to a slight tip as the originals have. Best Wishes, Bob

Well stated explanation. I knew there was something too intentional about the smudge at the bottom and remember that is a warning light but not necessarily an instant fake. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Harry

Thank you for supporting your comments for your reply. It is too easy to say "No it's not good" Sorry if you feel that my answer was short and easy... Feel that it is better to answer quick if you had the intention to buy that fake SS helmet. That decal just needed a one second look to see that it is not good. I recommend everyone that want a SS helmet to buy a ref book and study before buying. Both Kelly H "SS-Steel" and Ken N "Germany's combat helmets 1933-1945" are recommended reading... Bob made the answer you want and is correct in every way.
