Is it me or do I recognise this ring from our beloved auction site?
I chose to leave this one because of the starting price and heavy wear, this ring from what I know is a pre and post war design often mend rings mistaken for period pieces, the band was quite thick on this one and the '8' looked very close to a 'B', the wear made it difficult to identify easily.
For me it's a bad apple, but I hope somebody here will confirm it could be genuine.

yes, the ring looks like the pattern offered during the war.
This has been on auction for a few months with no takers.
I agree with svengas reasons plus the shallow details just don't cut it for me as a WW2 vintage.. It's old and certainly not a current made ring.
For me this is a early postwar 'Mens ring'..
