These carved bone mounted swords were sold to Western tourists around the end of the 19th and early 20th century. I have never seen a good blade in these carved bone mountings. Although you rpictures are not the best, the blade in this piece appears to be a true Japanese sword blade. However, mounted in these mounts, I am sure it has one or more fatal flaws to the blade. thank you Mr.coleman for fast reply I also have a good feelings about the blade...i will got it in hands soon, and then i will post a better picture off blade and the tang best and regards. tommy.
