Hi Ralf,
Have you done other books? What is the format/focus/presentation plan, and how will it differ from Ron Weinand's NPEA book?
I have many NPEA daggers, about half appear in Ron's book. Hermann has the most HJ knives/different makers. I guess we need to know how likley the book will make it to completion, as it is a lot of effort to take quality pictures. John

Hello John, yes, I write a book ; The servicedaggers of the SA and NSKK (336 sides). And i have write a second book about the servicedaggers oF the SS (460 sides). In my first book Thomas Johnson wrote the preface. In my second book Thomas Wittman wrote the preface. For my third book, now concerning stealweapons the NPEA and Hitleryouth I will win Ron Weinand for the preface. My book will appear generous in color, DINA4 Landscape format. I would be pleased much about good photos of your NPEA daggers.

Ralph are you planning an English version? Visionary as your books are, it would save a lot of effort with a dictionary to have a copy in my native tongue LOL

Hello Paul, first there is to be a German expenditure. An English version is not impossible.

Hello Ralph,

My experience with reference book writers was not always so positive.

But if you are looking for something particular on HJ's, just let me know and I will see if I can help you out.

Hello John,

That collection of NPEA daggers is most impressive... congratulations!

Best regards,

Herman

If this new book is anything like the first two that Ralf has prepared, then we will be in for a real treat.

Ralf's two books, on SA and SS daggers, takes pride of place right besides the books by Johnson, Wittman and Weinand, in my humble opinion.

Well, since I only have 1 NPEA dagger, it will be an easy task for me to take pictures. grin

Indeed, most impressive collection John.

I only have two, both Eickhorn, of course, a beat up 35-41 mark and a nice 42 over shoulder mark.

Its a great idea combining the 2 youth groups into one book. I have an early Tiger HJ.

Ralf do you think you could share some pictures of you're daggers for us to enjoy? Not all of us here are advanced collectors. I am guessing that you may have some nice peices and information to share with us. Of course this might spark our interest in you're new book. Thanks, Ian.

The surprise would be gone if Ralf were to do that and it would be unfair to him that put so much hard work into his book and past references and also unfair to those collectors who paid a pretty price for the past references only to get posted for free for those who have not contributed by purchasing a reference book. One does not have to be an advanced collector to have any reference book,, but all I can say is save your money now and when he releases his book for public sale you will have one. I mean this constructively!
Some things that are not seen by everyone are meant to be savored and thats what makes things special,, and not unwrapping a gift before its due. regards Larry

Check out Hubertus post over on the hunting forum. I am glad to see that some people post their "special" daggers for all to see. On the bayonet forum the banner says this forum is to share knowlage and experience. I thought these forums were for such. That maybe part of the reason this forum has really slowed down in the past few years! I think I read a book, Ian.
