Found this pipe this morning, can anyone tell me where I can go to find mor info on this. Are these collectible like steins? it's a good size one and it came with two bowls, one of a horse on it the other is the regimental which is dated 1914 on the back, the moth piece has a small imperial button tied on it. Thanks
Fritz

Fritz,
Yes, you're correct that these are very much like good original reservist's drinking steins in that some are quite desireable and collectable. I can't give you many specifics in great detail other than certain units are much more in demand than others.
I was speaking to a German friend recently who found a rare, complete Jäger pipe that he was quite keen on and paid near $500 for. This one looks in very fine condition with all the bells and whistles - do your homework if you decide to sell it. If you got it for a fair price I'd keep it around for a while ... it's a nice decorative piece for the finest of any type of collection.
Best!
