Gentlemen

I know these are rarer than hens teeth so have every expectation that this is a fake but what do you folks think?

Many thanks

The pics are not bad but the true overall color of the dagger, which is an important feature, imo does not come to light.
This said I did look for special features which an original FHH has to have and I have to say that I miss them...
Also the grip does not have the right shape and surface (which is extremely hard to dublicate/fake).
Although naturally an in hand inspection would be necessary I personally would tend (for 95%) to think it´s a fake dagger.
Regards,

Can you additionally show detailed pics from the scabbard bands (from all sides) and from the pebbling of the scabbard near the tip of the scabbard, both sides?
Regards,

Beautiful dagger. I'm sure I saw somewhere that they are all numbered. Is this correct.

And thanks for your help on my original question

All the best

James

John whats the name i see etched on the back of the cross guard and BTW John and Wotan,, very impressive! Something of this calibre Im surprised that the owner would scratch his name on the back of the guard instead of getting it etched,, still very nice!! best Larry

@lakesidetrader: I have not seen any written period regulation but to my best knowledge these daggers (which were duty-daggers!!! not honor daggers; beside these few different honor daggers were awarded) were worn by all leaders of the Standarte FHH and the leaders of the staff of OSAF (highest SA leadership).

Obviously Hermann Brauneck, dob 19.12.1894, Leader of the Sanitätshauptamt within the OSAF. Highest grade SA-Obergruppenführer. He died 27.7.1942 at Kertsch (KIA?) and has his grave at the warriers cemetary at Sewastopol-Gontscharnoje.
