Hi, GDC Forum . . . what a fantastic collecting tool ! Looks like some great characters too ! Me? Became interested in militaria at aged 11 , , ,cap badges, then my grandfathers WW1 medals, which led to more medals, then in 1970, a HJ for £5 (E Packe). Since then Ive alternated between any British medals
and german collectables (have some nice awards for sale), however, my reeeeal passion has always been dress daggers, so this is where I'll be concentrating in the future (looking for awsesome RAD Leaders if anyone has one for sale),thanks Vinney

Hey Doug! I'm in sunny Penarth, just outside Cardiff (always sunny here, no rain since 1946, I'm told, he he ). Me? Started collecting militaria (cap badges) aged 11 (now 58, tho ud never believe it!), that led to Medals, then German awards, then daggers, then back to British stuff and now back to daggers with a vengeance! Until 2 years ago I'd not parted with anything, but then lost 2 parents and a long term partner very quickly so thought I may as well claim the investment because no one else would be interested or know what was what (Waterloos, Islandwana casualties, some really nice bits). Then, to spoil everything, I had a call from someone with two german bayonets to sell . . . need I say more . . . was a nice police bayonet and the other a DLV . . . here we go again! What's your story? Vinney

Prynhawn Da Vince!

Glad to see you on the forum!
I have not seen you in Brecon for a while...
You sold me a couple of nice army daggers - have a search and you might spot them.

Hwyl / Cheers,

Yo Rhys! Soooo nice to hear from you , , , one of the nicer Welsh collectors! Want to sell them back to me!!?? Few weird things on the go lately, tell you when I see you, but collecting wise I've decided to concentrate purely on daggers (they've always been my passion). Medalwise, Im selling nice bits to collectors all over the country, following an ad I put in Medal News, and figure Daggers are the best investment, so the cash from the medals is going into daggers (the interest rate is soooo much better)! Catch up sometime, if you're near Penarth 07730 345483, send me your uptodate moby

Hey Vinney, Thanks for the kind words! I like your daggers too much to sell them back to you - sorry! Do you still have that nice looking PD Luneschloss army? Wish I spent more on daggers than stocks and shares frown Will have to meet up again soon. Will miss the Brecon show at the end of the month (not sure if it is cancelled anyway - building renovation??). Cheers Rhys
