Hi Barker Nice Original dagger,it looks to be a Weimar period piece from between the wars, a good picture of the makers mark would help to determine exactly what era it is from. The blade looks to have a little age to it but at 80 odd years old we would all suffer the same fate I think. Is there a scabbard??.
Later this week I will be putting up a few nice forestry pieces up for sale, if your interested in these things then keep an eye on the for sale forum.

Maker mark is the knights head over WKC, behind the clamshell so can't photo. Yes there is a sheath. It has shrunk some and is about an eighth inch short. Small prick on bottom fitting where point strikes. Blade looks nice in person only slight darkening.

Having a little ding at the end of the lower mount where the tip has pierced it is typical of these things, quite a few of my pieces have this trait. Nice hirschfänger and thanks for posting it.
