I am releatively new to the forum and to German dagger collecting. I just purchased this SS dagger and would appreciate any and all comments regarding originality, maker (I have read the maker is unkown)is it a common maker, etc..

Thank you in advance for your comments and opinions.

Beautiful original early 1934 production SS, with nice condition proper era vertical hanger. I'm so glad you got an original dagger, as often new collectors get stuck with parts daggers, or outright fakes.
congrats! John

Everything looks original and that is an unknown maker. I think that the hanger is real but probably not original to this dagger as the lower loop looks too loose.

Nice one and I would agree about the hanger. The fit is not as good as it should be. Welcome, James

Thank you all for your positive and encouraging comments and information about my dagger. Being a new collector I truly appreciate the information and am happy to hear that the dagger is original.

I've been reading about German WWII daggers and have purchased several books. I enjoy reading the posts on this forum as they are very informative and educational.

Thank you again for your feedback and help. Great forum!

If you are looking for in-depth reference books, Tom Wittmann's series covers four very popular types of daggers:

beautiful piece. I really like the 120 and 121s! Mine is not as pretty as this and is painted! Loved the anodized scabbard!

Congratulations. It is actually very popular amongst early SS, but I wouldn't bother, the dagger is 100% original, looks nice and comes with cool vertical hanger with oval buckle. What do we need more?
