WOW!! Is that sword FRESH . Looks like it was made yesterday (and it was!!!!) Nothing period about the sword fittings blade and etch are all done within the last few years..Sorry to tell you this... There is a lot of these things turning up... Many collectors are being duped. Daggers and swords have been turning up in Germany with postwar False as pictured and real Damascus blades including postwar etchings I have been seeing them on other forums also... From the pictures I have seen and the swords and daggers I have looked at there are a lot in collections in Germany (Europe) and making it over here..The sword itself has been selling on e-bay as a repro and as real (depending who is selling them) There is a English website that was offering them without the etch..The basic sword may be made in Europe or India.Of course the issue numbers on the sword are all wrong too. Buy reference books as a starting base. Regards: James

Thank you Damast.

What do you think about a logo.
You see a difference between original logo and it?
I don't see a difference.

It can post war production of factory of Eickhorn???

Thanks.

The whole etch is bad including the logo...
The sword was NOT made postwar by Eickhorn and may not even be German made.
(are you the person who Commissioned this sword???)

Thank you Damast.
I'm a person who wanted to buy this sword.

My opinion that a logo is made very qualitatively!!!
I compared these a brand to brands which are presented on Damask daggers in Johnson's books.

Thanks.

Damast is right on target as this being a complete fake. I'm also in agreement that that it looks like the swords seen on eBay - but with a new twist. That being the added etching of both the naval motif in blue and gold with an imitation Damascus. FP

I do agree that the trademark looks convincing, but the damast and the blueing is obvious fake.

Which translates to the fact that fakers can copy just about anything. But the quality can vary as some have more skill than others, while still other examples could undergo a "product improvement" cycle as they learn from their mistakes. With the various forums being used sometimes as a test to see if the fakes/altered items will fool collectors. FP
