The blade is made very qualitatively. The donative inscription has very exact and correct letters!

Dave is correct...Not damascus and not period in any way...These have been on the Market for a long time... And are one of the basic and common postwar reproductions out there. Sorry. Regards: James

James, You can explain to me, what for do such blade if it never existed? And what for to sell it for 100$ if expenses for manufacture will be much more expensive?

These are early fake blades, there were many made, probably in the 70's if memory serves me. These appear often, there is no change of being period I'm afraid. A common fake most blade collectors have seen many times.

Here is one with the same etched pattern, a different maker mark and no dedication on the back. I have seen them with several different marks and dedications, all post war manufacture. They are not very costly to make once the master etch pattern is produced. I keep this as a gauge to compare others to.

Hello: (Damast_2010) Not sure if these repros sold for $100.00 but usually they sold for more than that when the blade was added to period dagger fittings. These blades are NOT REAL Damascus. It is a postwar false or acid etched to look like Damascus but totally postwar.. I have seen people spend a great deal of money on these daggers only to find out later they have been deceived. Buying some basic reference books on daggers would help. The Johnson, Wittmann,Frederick Stephens books etc... The new SA book also. The list is long.... Regards: James

I have bought this blade for 190$. It's not expensive. I have Johnson and Siegert books.
I couldn't find in books of a similar blade.
Almost all Johnson's photos are made on daggers Carl Eickhorn, and other manufacturers aren't presented almost!

I want to pay your attention that my blade is really made not of a Damask steel, and its imitation.
But at the time of the third Reich applied imitation of a Damask steel!
I haven't found any Damask blade in books made by E.Pack.
Unless this manufacturer didn't do daggers from Damask steel or it's imitation?

You must read my post above.. I know and the dagger blade you have is NOT Damascus...And yes I know that they did make some period false Damascus etched blades.But, your's is not a period dagger blade for many reasons, The hole in the tang, the gold coloring is wrong, just to add a few more problems.. If you paid $5.00 or $2,000.00 it really does not matter it is still a postwar blade.. Buy more books...Frederick Stephens book on repros may help..You have to have reference books while not the bible or all knowing there is Great info there.Some of the old Angola books have these acid etched fakes in them in a repro. section. Talk to trusted dealers and collectors...Regards: James

I don't confirm that it is the original, I agree that it is a copy.
To me strange that I couldn't find the information on Damask blades of this manufacturer (Pack) in books!
He is the manufacturer in general did blades from Damask steels for daggers SA?

You see that those fake blades often have a hole in the tang, a real one should NEVER have one.

And that trademark is also very often seen on fake blades made in Germany from the EPS stock.
Well not fake blades, postwar I should say.

I've never seen this maker on a Damascus blade.

James, YES, there were a few full Roehm SA Damascus blades made. I have seen one with the early variant SA motto and a partial ground Roehm on the reverse of a Pack blade many years ago in a private collection.
