Dave:
I just got home after the weirdest travel experience in Chicago. They took 17 people off the plane to reduce its weight since the weather in Calgary was cold.
I left Louisville very early this morning, so have no idea what today was like, but set up day and yesterday looked to be very busy.
Lots of people with smiles on their faces... buyers and sellers.
I had my usual very good show.
WWIICollector (Tom) was at his first large show and was like a kid in a candy shop. He was so excited that he didn't even notice how we kept stiffing him for the bar bills...
Great show, wonderful items, lots of traffic, and some amazing conversations and showings in the private parties held every evening.
John

Yeah, Paul!
Hanging out at the Paul Palace after the show days was super...how many times in one's life can you sit down and see so many great people and items..
Great to see people from all parts of the US and the rest of the world hanging out together and shooting the breeze.
Now, if we could only convince Joe to bring wine that can't be purchased by the gallon!

I had a fantastic show, no hirschfngers but I still picked up a bundle of other nice daggers. It was great to see all the familiar faces ans a couple of new one's as well. Good sales as far as I could see.
This particular show was the best in a few years in my opinion, it seems our Tom choose a good one to visit first.

Saw only seven numbered but unidentified SS daggers. Two of them sold. One had a three digit SS number and I can only identify the number on either side of it. These are the most frustrating. I was able to finally identify only one of the seven this year but that made the owner happy. Love spreading the joy! Ross Kelbaugh www.ssdaggers.comwww.HistoricGraphics.com

I just returned home from the show a whole day later then planed my flight was canceled in Dallas Sunday evening due to high winds so I had the pleasure of spending 24 hours their before I could get another flight home. The SOS for me was fantastic I found three key pieces for my army collection as well as a nice waffenrock I combed the show all three days and bought two of the three army keepers late Saturday I also sold two other armys I had bought at the show as well I had quite a good time. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and appreciate the time we spent in the evening looking over all the goodies and some special stuff that never saw the show floor I look forward to the next one.

I had a great show as usual, I have never left the sos show disappointed, lol, I have left it worried and wondering if i would have to find a new place to live after my wife found out how much i spent. I only took up like 10 things to sell and sold 7 of them and picked up a really nice G date luger, 2 luger holsters, a SA gruppe marked PP and a paratrooper knife. Got to see old friends and have a few drinks. Cant wait for next years show.

This time the SOS was more of a dagger show than in past years. Tom and I bought a couple of collections and he will be posting some on his site in the near future. I have a nice HJ Leader and a couple of GOs to post later. Got a DJ AHS shoulder board that I have been looking to find for years and a great pre-RZM HJ buckle, so I am a happy camper.

Jerry,, see any Jim Beam Black there? . Going to the show for years and haven't seen a bar that stocked the black ,only the regular/white.. Prejudice still run that deep, over there?

It was good to finally meet with you as well.
Did you find anything special at the show?

Nice photos but I have my doubts on the authenticity of the Blood Order pictured. The Eagles head and wreath look strange to my but it could just be the photo.

That is an enormous stone sculpture! I wonder where it was originally erected. Some sort of war memorial or military cemetery? It must've cost a fortune to ship over from Europe. It must weigh a ton.
