Mike:
It looks like an NSKOV insignia on an early short private purchase Eickhorn clamshell police bayonet.
That early double oval serrated tail no CE mark is one that I haven't seen on a police bayo before, but that probably only means that it is a pretty rare TM. It doesn't have any unit markings, and, as a private purchase, that is ok.
Everything looks like it has been together for a long while.
I question the fit of the stag to the pommel... usually the stag to metal fit is way better, but many many years of expansion and contraction can do this.
I like what I see.... so, how about you police guys? Billy?

Mike, Your bayonet is a wonderful piece that I would be happy to own. The condition is a bit rough for some of the more hard-core collectors. I collect on a budget. I love collecting in this area. Sometimes condition isn't an issue. You are lucky to have a clamshell. I am still looking for one.
I wish I was able to give you detailed information about your bayonet. I am glad John was able to help you. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Steve, good afternoon! Thanks big for the detailed answer. Has decided to refuse from purchase of this bayonet, the seller doesn't arrange a condition also hasn't given additional photos. The seller asked 1450$. I will search still. Yours faithfully Michael.

As John said, I think the fit of the stag grips is good & the overall piece has a nice appearance look to it. My only concern is the NSKOV grip emblem which is something we have seen on period bayonets albeit rarely but also a number of times of bayonets that have been embellished postwar. I'm curious how it's attached & if there's any movement in it.
Michael, can wee see a better detailed picture or two of the side view of the grip emblem? Can you tell if it's attached with one post or two?
