I welcome! Offer to purchase the given bayonet. Whether I ask you for suggestions has value it or not. With best regards Michael.

From what I see the piece looks like a total train wreck. I'd say the grips are replacements as are the rivets. The grip eagle might possibly be a period device but it looks to be a replacement on this bayonet. The mortise button looks replaced as well. The scabbard leather may also be replacement but I can't tell from the poor pictures. Add to all of this the very poor overall condition, particularly of the blade.

An uncut blade clamshell bayonet is a scarcely found item & an expensive model in today's market. The asking price is obviously reflective of the condition, etc., but I would recommend you to save your money. Buy something in better condition even if it's a more common model.

Property marking on the bayonet reveals some interesting history. S.Kbg. means Schutzpolizei Koenigsberg (East Prussia). After falling to the Russian onslaught and expulsion of all Germans, the city was renamed Kalingrad and annexed to the USSR.

Unfortunately, the bayonet is a boat anchor.
