Hi guys !
Uncle Addie finally arrived yesterday !!
I wanted one of these for years and finally got one, thanks to a fellow collector in Germany.
This one was given as a wedding present to the guy on the pics
and according to my information he was mayor in the town of
Leihgestern in Germany, got a bunch of letters adressed to him with the statue.
Thanks for looking !
Happy New Year, Hakan

Hakan:

Now that is neat... I really like the bronze, but the documentation makes it really special.

Congratulations,

John

Hakan,

Another great score to close out the collecting year ... you've really found some fine things this past year, kind thanks for sharing them.

Wishing you an even better year in 2011 ... grin

Grüsse aus Philadelphia!

Thanks for the nice comments here guys !!
This mans name was Wilhelm Damm and was the mayor in Leihgestern between 1938-1945.
He was also a member of the SA standarte 116 "Oberhessen" as a Truppfuhrer in the small photo posted and as Leihgestern belongs to Oberhessen that is absolutely correct.
I also have a postcard written to him in 1935 that adresses him as far as I can see as Ortsgruppenleither but the handwriting is hard to read out so please correct me if I am wrong here.
And the postcard is signed by Hans Will who was the mayor of Leihgestern between 1934-1937
Can anyone confirm that the card says "Ortsgruppenleither" ??
Cheers, Hakan

Hakan,

Yes, that's the way I read it too. Addressed to: Parteigenosse Wilhelm Damm.

Can't wait to see what you'll be sharing with us in the coming year, it's always a pleasure seeing what nice thing you'll turn up next.

Best!

Bill
