I have no doubt this is probably the best book for the hands on collector, but if you cannot properly understand German you will run into problems. You usualy end up getting only the rough idea of what he is saying.Best to wait till it is out in English & understand it fully, because getting the wrong end of the stick will cost you alot of money.

and finaly a new classification on ss chained daggers. special thanks to medes. i am proud to see 3 daggers of mine in that book.

to all the english/american user: as germans we had to learn english to be able to read the references on edged weapons. most of these books are in english. don´t be afraid to buy a german reference. take a dictionary. it´s not that difficult if you have learned the basic words, which will appear on and on, while a dagger is described.

best regards J.C.B.

He asked me (I think) to write a chapter on fake daggers, so I asked him 2-3 questions on how he wanted it done, but his answers were either not my questions or were not understandable.

If who ever does this in English wants a chapter on fakes and reworks, I would be happy to provide.

I would also be happy to review and suggest edits as I did with TW's SS book.

Dear Dave,

I`m shure there was some missunderstanding because, as you can read here, Ralfs english is worse then mine.
Unfortunately he didn`t asked me to contact you, and the book must be finished to December last year.
It was not enough time to add another chapter from an US autor like we did with Ross. (Id had translate the chapter from Ross and needed 4 weeks...)
But we will be happy to get some help from you in a further project from Ralf or from me.
Now we know that you kindly provide your knowledge and we can aks you with enough time left.
Actually we are looking for an english publisher. Ralf want to sell the rights for the english edition.
The buyer gets the complete rights for publishing the book in english for all time, he just have to translate the book in english.

Regards
Sven Georgi

the new classification is on the 36 Model chains.
Till now there are only Wittmanns Type I and II but the chains shows more differences then Wittmann described with this two types.
Also the types are against the timeline of producing these chains.
In Ralfs book there is now an new classification, more detailled and in timeline which contains 4 Types:

A
B1
B2
C

It is a pity that such books are not edited in Spanish, but also consider them extremely interesting, but how much literature has on our theme much better.
