Hello,
I've see many NSFK dagger, but no one with this maker mark. I know there's many fake by Clemen & Jung & I've inspected this one with a lot of attention, but see any red flag. A very good surprise when I've disassemble the dagger: all part are matching with the same number: 354 (upper & lower scabbard fittings, crossguard, pommel & tang of the blade). Just a mistake on upper fitting: 345. There is no usual "K" on crossguard. Interesting piece...
Opinion???? Thanks. JC

The hanger leather looks to be the same leather that covers the scabbard, something I haven't seen before. A DLV/NSFK dagger hanger's leather is usually dark brown leather. I'll grant you the parts look to be quality but there's something there that I can't put my finger on except to say I don't like the maker mark or the stamped part numbers.

I have seen last year a mostly perfect copy from Eastern Europe of such a DLV/NSFK knife. I was surprised how good it was. See on this one the ring lines on the scabbard fittings are not very nice clear and so on. Is the maker mark off center to the blade center or is this and illusion? And everywhere senseless markings and very ugly screws ... No need to take this one apart. But this are just my 5 cents on it.

Hi JC,
I am afraid I have to agree with the above due to the accent grooves on scabbard, NSFK stamping on scabbard throat, leather hanger looks odd, bottom fitting on scabbard with the ball looks odd and the maker mark as stated looks off. Still a very good effort though and don't take my opinion as it being a copy. Best wishes, Ian

Thanks to all. This dagger isn't mine, but a good friend show it to me.
If it's a fake, it's an old one & not easy to detect for me.
Thanks again.

These are not old copy's as they are pooping up frequently and not already 10 years ago. The aging is as well faked.
