Thanks for sharing. Thankfully, the quality is pretty bad here and there. But, the blade comes closer to the real thing than I have seen.

777 there is also a NPEA dagger with damast blade up for sale.. maybe you could post those pictures.. I seem to have a minor problem compressing them. just search "NPEA" and it should pop up. and i have to say,, That one is really scary..

The NPEA is not scary at all. Motto is wrong! Dedication "for the best student of the 1938/39" on Staff dagger??? I'll try to post it in Miscellaneous Dagger Forum.

Don't think so, these fakes are not that hard to detect for experienced collector. In many cases reading the basic reference will help a lot. The ones who should start to collect Lego are those "allegro" idiots who bid. They are ready to spend thousands for fakes, but to spend hundred for a book is a waste of money for them. Looks to me that one or two screws holding the center scabbard band really can be important.I knew all these textbooks were going to payoff someday.

“Old school” fakes made from altered original items like the “H” daggers, or the “Kaltenbrunner” SS Degen, etc. have been around for a long, long, time. What seems to be happening now is a flood of new fakes ranging from newly etched “SS” combat bayonets, to batches of conversions and newly manufactured daggers like this example. Much better than some I have seen lately, the blade with this one seems to be delaminating (which is something I have seen with some other miscellaneous examples in the not too distant past).

And what I think is an interesting anomaly/deviation in the motto. Normally the motto's are not affected by the etch because the plating is on top of a polished blade. Here there are indications that there is visible “grain” underneath the lettering. Please check out the below posted link for what looks like a variation of this phenomena. FP NSKK Damascus blade

It is really becoming a mind field outthere This is not a good news for the hobby long therm as all the fresh collectors will get discouraged once they realize that this 5 nice daggers thay currently posses are fakes in facts. Had a lady approached me recently with exactly this ...and imagine her reaction when I confirmed all are wrongo IMO. (trust me - this was a no brainer)
