This aint a gun but its a shell for one.Thought it was brass at first,but a magnet sticks to it and you can see the coating wearing off, steel with a brass/copper coating,bottom is well marked.German use of steel casing as brass was getting scarce?

The Germans loaded all sorts of steel cased ammo as brass became in short supply. Even the U.S. loaded some steel cased stuff during the war.
