I have looked on the internet and can find no reference to a Fascist dagger with this blade form. The obverse cross guard is marked "MVSN" and the reverse cross guard is marked "F 812" with a rivet through the cross guard. Can anyone help me id it. I bought it with a group and the owner did not have any information regarding it. Thanks Larry

This is a model 1925 MVSN dagger. The first "party" dagger. Made from old French bayonets.

Jim, Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea what these are going for? I am considering selling it and I don't want to waste anyone's time by asking an exorbitant price for it.
Thanks Larry

These got up to about $2,000, but then the bubble burst. I see people trying to sell them for $2,500, $2,200, and none sell.
If it was me, I would list it at $1,800. It might sell. You can also list these on Ebay.
Good luck

Jim, Thanks for the help. That's a lot more than I thought. I think I will post it here first, I prefer not to go to Ebay if I can avoid it.

hi larry, hi jim. as you know, jim, when the rivet is visible at sight, usually means it has been opened..... nothing serious about the originality (apart the scabbard seems repainted) but a top collector prefers an untouched unopened dagger. these days are not the best to close a good deal for the italian daggers, usually less appreciated than the germans. if you, larry, are happy as its value is higher than you thought, ok run up, otherwise wait for better days. only my opinion, of course ..

Sorsy hi jim, my friend. things are going great, here in the green, thanks. my mountain cottage is just where in the WW1 the italian/austrian front line was, so my son convinced me to get a metal detector for catching war relics. i have to say that it is a fascinating an distressing strange sort of treasure hunt, and in someway, atleast during the hot season, i left the daggers' world closed in its room for enjoying this new 'hobby' : hope the admin let me post here a couple of OT pics - look the enormous quantity of grenades holes ... after 90 years still there, and a couple of ...dirty toys me and my son have found. also i found a wonderful german (they were here in 1917 with the austrian) grabendolch completely rusted inside its scabbard, have no pics in the PC now but i will post next week.

of course Ted,these came not in my windows. anyway what you say is terribly real, as just a couple of months ago i red of a tourist exploded while managing abomb. and it's curious, in my case, when i phoned the rangers to come and bring away the grenade, they told me last year more than 100 unexploded bombs were still found in my area, and so they are usual, for each year, to fill one of the hundreds of old ww1 military caverne with all the found grenades and then call the army blaster to blow it.

Ive never gone with metal detector but my friends who does called it "handsubstactor" .It is not so funny after this type of accident. Is it legal to use metal detector in Italy? In Poland it is forbidden to dig in the woods but everything depends on foresters ,many of them are collectors too.Best Ted
