Hello, I just recently acquired a "Schwert und Scholle" banner. I was wondering if anybody could give me any history on the item and possible value. Unfortunately it has experienced some mothing but none the less it is still a very interesting item. Thanks, Doug

'some' mothing is good. They had a feast in there. I googled Landjahr and here is a site that sums it up. http://histclo.com/youth/youth/org/nat/hitler/act/ha-jahr.htmHitler Youth members spent some time working on Farms. Schwert und Scholle - Sword and Sod - represented by the othila (Odal) rune was the symbol for this. No clue what it's worth. It's unique, I have never seen something comparable; but it's condition... But, I do like it.

Lifted from the site, I linked to in my post above. There you have it: "The day at a Landjahr camp begins at 6:00 in the morning with a buggle call and a flag-rising ceremony." The trumpet may have had that same banner attached to it...
