Can someone please explain why some EK 2 have different types of swastika - some high and wide and some thin and low?

Thanks

Different makers.

Different fakers.

There were a large number of makers of period EK II's. Thus the variants.

There are abundant post war fakes/reproductions also.

Do you have a specific example you might wish to post?

Info is posted in a couple of different places on the site, but here it is again wink

Under the reply or post window, you will see "File Manager". Click it to open a window that lets you browse your computer for photos. When you find one, double click it to get the name in the box, and click "Add File". Repeat as needed, then click "Done Adding Files". When you click the "Submit" button, the files will be loaded to the forum. Users can load up to 5 photos at a time, Premium Members and moderators can add up to 10photos at a time. This is not available in the "Quick Reply" window at the bottom of a thread.

Do you mean, post fake variants? Or post real variants? I have a fullblown 100% unmistakable undeniable not-even-tryin-to-hide-it-or-maybe-just-a-little fake EKI 1914, screwback. I could post it if you want, to show 1 fake? But Ill do it with a Winnie-the-Pooh'ish backgroundsetting! Just to avoid any missunderstanding

K, that is a good point. There are post war fakes and post war original 57 copies that some have taken the 57 core from and placed a fake core in the frame.
Post your cross please.

Dagger6, if you are following this thread also
http://phpstack-500133-1583587.cloudwaysapps.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=225423&nt=2&page=1
you can see some other variants and the maker marks.

Thanks - very nice photos by Ricardo, nice EK as well.

I had read recently that EK cores were struck from a single master, apparently this is incorrect

I would say incorrect since there are round 3 variants and Schienkelform crosses and larger bergrosse crosses. There are one piece crosses as well.

Can do! But, beware, its very fake! It cant be unfake, whatsoever! Mind the setting! I was helped by my favourite elephant, Elmer! I love Elmer very much, and he can play with toys anytime he wants, toys like this cross

Its a 3 piece construction? Or, 4 then, if you cant the twist-on-twist-off backplate? The core is lose, the cross rattles if you shake it. Its not a vaulted cross? Just, straight as ... well, just plain flat. Some silvermarks, I guess, but, nothing that could fool any 1 of you!

Enjoy,
KR

Hi Karin,

A very nice EK1 copy with a very original Elmer elephant.

I have a fake too, it's a one piece WWII EK1, seems to me it was casted in a soft metal from a original one.

Sorry, no original elephant fake EK1 decorated, only a fake Chin-chin monkey from Speed-Racer series:

Regards,

Ricardo
