Very nice. Do both the bayonets have wooden scabbards? The lower example is most interesting.

Hi Shaun, I posted these photos before under the old system and i am trying to wet an idea what it might be worth. Since you have such a nice collection maybe you might have an answer.
The photos below are a Kamikaze headband but not too sure according to (Jareth Holub) if it is worth something. You just dont see these at all too much so maybe yo can add a few words.
I have taken this to an older seamstress and she identified that it is real cotton with the black cotton seed specs woven within the threading. So it is quite possible that it is period, but I dont know what it would fetch if I decided to part with it. Any input from anyone is welcomed again. Best regards Larry

It looks to be a nice piece.I really cant help much on headbands as I really have not done much with them or research on them. Now what I have seen is a couple for sale and I think they were between 75.00 to 150.00 but again I am not for sure. Its sure a nice looking one.

I've been told that Kamikaze headbands were made with blue ink.

I've posted before on these bands. Not just pilots wore them. Everyone from students to factory workers! I have seen period photos of them being worn by patriotic civilans. I used to own one that was a gift to aircraft factory workers. I have never heard of the "only blue ink" comment before. These are diffinately a prime "buy the item, not the story" piece!!

Hey Shaun Thanks for your input,, there will always be a curiosity on a rarely seen item, that is hard to put a price tag on. this one of those cases. It is true what Jareth Holub says about the band being used as a patriotic symbol for everyone to show support for their pilots. Since this last posting under the old system, there are period photographs of many people young and old wearing these headands. click here Headbands You will have to scroll down about 3/4 of the way and near to the bottom, but through out there ares some great photos,, and a good one of Hirohito

I have exhausted my research into finding the true worth and have only came as close as the authentication of the cotton. So really there is no wrong answer and I appreciate all input.

I never heard of the blue ink theory either,, but colors run when they get wet, who knows and its hard to say.
This head band with the prayer I will always be curious as to the worth like with anything else that is a rare find in this hobby.
I appreciate Jareth Holubs input, you brought it into the light that it was worn by more people than just the pilots,,,,I never knew that. I will always be open to any input concerning this,, Thanks again Larry
