Hello again all,
I was just looking at some of the items sold on nicholas morigis site and I see he has a number of new plaques shown(at least I hadn't seen them there before). Looks like many of his badges at least can be seen as fakes, but I wonder if anyone has seen any of the plaques he sells and if in hand they can be seen as fakes. I specifically refer to the donation for horses plaque and the fuhrer plaque he shows. Has anyone had them in hand? Are they made of the same material as originals were? From the pictures even the back of the fuhrer plaque has all the wording and front has the makers mark. The donation of horses plaque says it is made out of heavy metal,I wonder if it is the same material as originals? Anyone have any idea? I would imagine in hand one could tell they are repros? I certainly hope so. Scary! Just an observation.

Can't help you regarding the plaques I'm afraid, are they expensive? The reason I ask is that sometimes it's easier to buy one & see. I've bought a few fake badges from him (& others) over the years just to get a "feel" for them. Sometimes it's the only way to get to know your enemy.

Good luck.
Don

Bill I am of no help on the quality of the awards, having never purchased from the site.

Hello,
Don and Joe, thanks for your comments. Don, regarding the prices I don't know whether they are particularly expensive, I believe they are in the range of 30 to 40 pounds(?) I believe the prices which for me at this point is more than I'd like to shell out for a fake item, but I do agree Don that sometimes it would pay to buy repros just to see how close to originals they may be. What really made me put this thread in was the look of the donation for horses plaque. The other plaque such as the fuhrer plaque kind of look strange from the front, too new or something. In any case I thank you for your replies and am thankful that forums like this and members such as you both are here to help other collectors.
