My thoughts exactly. Not the run of the mill thing you see everyday on Epier & Gunbroker either.

Too bad it's not an Eickhorn, or I would want it... ha, ha.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for your comments about my "Feldherrenhalle" dagger. Yes, this is a dagger I purchased many years ago in the early 1990's. I don't remember for sure but believe it was at the local flea market here in NYC. I do not know it's exact origin and have always believed it was a fantasy piece. It's just too good! I do not remember what I paid and have no idea what it is worth today. It does look beautifully made and has the number "92" stamped into one of the scabbard fittings. I am open to any ideas other members may have about the origin of the piece.

This certain dagger has some features of the projected field marshal´s dagger (the pommel) and something from the projected east government dagger (crossguard), a part of an army dagger (grip) and some unique parts. I also think to recognize some specialities parts were manufactured (eg the eagles are seperate, not cast together with pommel or crossguard) which I have cannot remember having seen on a period III R dagger.
As the original FHH dagger itself came in a VERY limited number and there were also several real honor models of this certain dagger (also with -real- damast blades) and quality of this dagger is ok, I highly doubt this one shown here is a period dagger.
Just my thought, regards,

"Never look for sqare eggs" as a late owner of an original FHH-dagger used to say.
