I have an SA full Rohm that also had the tip broken off. It was later repointed. I heard somewhere that that was a way of destroying the dagger. Perhaps someone would comment on that rumor.

I also have a full rohm that is slightly shortened, mine has been sharpened also quite rough but genuine. As far as the rumor about snapping off the tip of the dagger it is true, as far as i know when the germans were beat apparently they snapped off the tip of the dagger as a sign of surrender and handed the dagger to their victors! I have read this somewhere on here this is JMO, if i am wrong someone please correct me Regards Adam

Hello Stingray,
Your dagger has the correct, smaller Ed Wsthof trademark, so it certainly was a Rhm!

Why does the motto look so far from the crossguard?
"Mountain Dew or Crab Juice?" Homer "God that stuff is awful. I'll have a Crab Juice!" The Simpsons
