This badge was issued like for game wardens to arrest pouchers ,etc. My badge at one time had a refective paint on the scroll, mostly gone now ; backside is hollow casting with long vertical pin .
The best part was, that I found it like 15 years ago in a basket on a dealer's table at a gun show that was marked " Any item for $ 5 "!
There are some variations of this badge ; it was discussed on the WHA FORUM .

Bernd,

You've really put together a great collection of DJ tunics and uniforms and it's always a pleasure to see such aesthetic items of this type of quality.

Chief - I'm fairly certain there was also a good thread that we had going on Houston's forum some time ago, regarding the Feld u. Forst Hüter insignia. If you go through some of the older threads I'm sure you'll find it. I think it had some great photos of the variant
badges.

Good hunting!

I'm mainly a tunic colector, and as yet have nothing by way of Forestry and/or Hunting, but do have a couple of relevant visors from my previous 'habit'.
The most unusual is this Luftwaffe Forestry visor, with green band and piping. The maker is Michovious of Cottbus. I've never seen another one and I wonder if any of you guys have?

...interior. I think at one time it had a metal ****ade as there are 2 holes, but the bullion ****ade now on is very high quality.

Nice visor--I have not seen one like it but it looks good in every way. I was not unusual to upgrade/modify uniforms. Thanks.

Tristan,

Nice looking tunic and cap, thanks for adding it to the thread. This gentleman would have been an Oberlandforstmeister.

Best!

Great thread and I really enjoy viewing all the Hunting Assoc. items, although I have to admit that I'm a bit lost when it comes to forestry, although still fascinating to view!

This is an interesting Tunic. It is Prussian Forestry. The buttons show the Prussian Eagle, but with a tiny Third Reich swaz in the center.

Falconry Hunting was also very popular and remains so. Information is scarce. This tunic is a 1930s high official DFO (German Falconry Org).

Those tabs on the Prussian Forestry tunic are absolutely superb!

And I've never seen anything like it before, although I have to say that DFO tunic is a fantastic looking example!

Chief,

Outstanding! Big Grin Wink

Those collar tabs have to be some of the nicest examples I've ever seen, civilian or military. Great quality and workmanship.

I hope you'll continue to share your fine collection with us and best of luck!

This is an interesting Forestry Administrator tunic as the buttons are gilt as is the collar tab and collar piping. The Hunting Arm Band bullion show much oxidation which gives it great character I believe.

Chief,

Another visual feast for the eyes, many thanks!

Some of these jackets are so well-designed and tailored, really top-shelf. You must have a whole closet full of these beauties, no? How long have you been at collecting forestry uniforms? It seems you've picked the best of the best. Wink

Once again, thanks and best regards!

Thank you for the kind comments. I have been collecting Forestry/Hunting for about 25 years. . I have just tried to stay focused and select quality items. Although the fakers are now beginning to reproduce items in this field, the vast majority of uniforms are still originals. As you know Cutlass, Hirchfangers and medals are now being reproduced by the truckload. Here is a picture of a very productive hunt.

Some of you may find these interesting. The Reichjagermeister picture is a period DJ post card. The thin glass tea cup is from Goring's Yacht. Note the etched anchor centered HG monogramm.

Here is a nice Hunting Association dinner setting. The plate appears to be a commemorative and the utensils Imperial.

I found these items at the Atlanta Show two weeks ago. A 1938 Jagerbrief and a large 800 silver spoon of the Imperial era.

Thanks WWII, and to Chief for some great stuff!

I wonder if the spoon you have is a Freikorps one? If you have Niemans book on awards look at pp. 58 and 80, where the Stags Head is very similar to the emblem for the Freikorps von Aulock and/or the Selbstschutz-Bataillon von Heyderbreck, respectively. If not let me know and I will scan (allowed?) for you.

I'm waiting on a couple of Forestry items that I recently got in an auction so I will post them when Santa brings them!
