Wow, this is an amazing piece.. especially for an RZM piece that is! The crossgrain, the beautiful wood pattern on the grip and the motto are stunning. I am Czech and this therefore makes it even a bit more special to me. I never knew there were makers that made SA daggers in what is now Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia - Protectorate Böhmen und Mähren). JAN

Hakan, I believe that's one of the best RZM's I've ever seen! Not a maker's name that you hear too often to boot ... an exceptional find and super photographs, too. Best! Bill Warda

Congrats, great dagger, Hakan! I usually don´t like RZM´s and collect only early ones with makers mark. But this beauty I would have most likely also given the chance to join my collection. Congrats again!

Your recent Acquisition is very stunning, and should be held high, You should be proud for the prize that you won after a great hunt!! It is beautiful. I have never seen a late RZM like that!! Envy runs high here on the forum and I admit it myself!! Even more,,IMO,,is that it was featured in a reference book and that,,makes it all the more special. Dont let go of it!! Great Job, Congrats!! Best Larry

Hey Hakan, your RZM/116 is shown in Ralf Siegerts SA Book that recently came out. It is shown in the (Late Model SA section) of his book. I dont have the book in front of me from where I am at right now, And I believe I dont have the rights to post any pictures from his book without permission, so I will not cross the line,, and be on the safe side! But its there, with the same wood grain grip and scratch on the lower reverse crossguard. I will post later the page number its on if someone else does not get to it first! Congrats again!!

Dear fellow collectors, in this case I would like to learn something about the grip. This grip looks to me like a very early SAdagger grip (perhaps PACK or EICKHORN), mostly used with Röhm dedication. I have not seen before such a grip on a RZM dagger. As in occupied CZ the factory could not produce SAdaggers before 38/39, production was under the control of the RZM within strict measurements and SAdaggers were only delivered through RZM/SA channels, what is your consent? Thank you in advance, regards,
wotan, gd.c-b#105

Great Observation Wotan and should make for a good continuing thread. It does make you wonder though how the grip, the eagle and runes button came to be in the CZ. Im Curious also. Larry

Maybe this factory bought some amount of these early grips somewhere and simply use them, because it was cheaper than made new handles? Maybe bought only eagles and pins and use them. Lower crosguard has not Gau stamp, but it is also early alpaka. Maybe it is just very early RZM dagger...how knows.
Lukas.

Thanks Wotan for the link, I am trying to research, the location, and your link was a great help. This part of the CZ was between 2 Gau districts, both of the them Sa and SA, I dont know which one is which. This is new to me, maybe not Luko since he lives there. Looks as though early SA daggers have already made their way into the Czech republic according to the SA territorial Map. This should open it up for further research. Thanks Luko and Wotan. Best Larry

Yes, my understanding is that early daggers made it already outside of the Reich, eventually to the still existing Austria or the Czechoslovakei. What does concern me is the late RZM dagger (produced under the control of the RZM!) and the early, not RZM conforming grip. @Luko, I do not think that it is a nicklesilver (alpaca) crossguard but the common nickled pot metal crossguard. Regards,
wotan, gd.c-b#105
