Hello all,
Out of curiousity(not buying it) can anyone tell me if all the Mine Rescue commemorative badges, the type shown in Niemann pg 250,have that same type of pin set up. Seems to look like the pin setup one sees on some of the oval ladies rad badges if I'm not mistaken. Reason I ask is that I see a badge like that but with a coke bottle shaped pin like one would see on combat badges. Did these items ever come with a pin attachment like this also? Thanks for any info

I'll have to search my library and get back to you.

Bill(Duzig), I do not have access to the Niemann
Book or catalog, so I am not positive as to the pin you describe. The only image I have available is on page 170 For Fuhrer and Fatherland Vol. 2 Political & Civil Awards Of The Third Reich by: LTC John R. Angolia.
It appears to be a block hinge laying on it's side (noted on numerous naval badges), The catch is either a wire C catch or a question mark style. The pin I am not positive of, it is thicker than the catch wire, not flat and flared, it is straight, either round or semi flatened. Sorry for the description but the image is dark and would not scan.

Hello Joe,
Here is a pic of the badge I am talking about, My question is regarding the pin shown on this badge,is it correct or an acceptable type pin that was used for this award. Thanks again for your help.

Smile I was in the wrong time period. In reply to your question, I do not know! I have an image of the other pin assembly you refer to on page 97 of Orden Und Ehrenzeichen 1871-1945 by: Andr'e Husken.
I will continue to check around.

Hello,
Joe again I thank you for your help. The badges like this I have seen(not many of them)all seem to have a different pin set up so this is just for future knowledge at some point in case I eventually go looking for one. Again I thank you for your help & info. It seems that these badges & items like the lifesaving medallion while I guess scarce are not collected by too many people for some reason.
Bill

Well -- it took me a while to get back to this question. blush I still have no answer.
Having searched Grubenwehr-Erinnerungsabzeichen online I have as yet to see a coke bottle style pin.

Anyone else have examples to share? Thoughts?

Can't really help as I've no experience with these. But I do have Detlev's catalogue so have taken a couple of quick snaps with my phone...

First the Grubenwehr-Erinnerungsabzeichen

And then there's the Reichsgrubenwehr-Ehrenzeichen.

Thank you Don. Pictures are much better than descriptions.
Bill, I will keep my eyes open for any variants of the hinges pins and catches.
