Hello, when I was younger [many moons ago] Big Grin early/mid 70's, I played guitar in a number of Rock and Roll bands. We played covers of Oldies, R+B, Bubblegum, and Rock tunes from the 60's and 70's. Also a couple of our own songs. I played a Gibson SG Special or a 1958 Fender Musicmaster through an Ampeg amp w/two 12" Jensens. Used a VOX Tonebender Footswitch [remember those!] for fuzz/distortion. Drifted away from it in the late 70's and sold everything. Always regretted it. Still had an Alvarez acoustic that I picked at over the years. Recently, started getting the "urge"! Seeing as how I'm not getting any younger, I went out and picked up this outfit a few days ago. The "gitter" is a model 5235 Gretsch and the amp is a "kick-ass" little Fender with a ton of effects. I'm looking to hook-up with a couple guys and play for fun not money, parties, etc. Although I'm "rusty" it's like riding a bike, you never forget! Wink If any of you guys play in a band, or for fun, let's hear from you and post some pics of your equipment! After 3 days, I've got blisters on 3 of my four fingers! Regards, Leipzig

nice guitar. i am a songwriter ( un published due to a lazy nature )

i have a few guitars at home but the only electric i own is by John Birch. all hand made one of 22. i spoke to him many years ago before his death and in his opinion the guitar i owned was either the first or second he made of that model.
it is a 2 octave sg2000 copy in black. the pickups are etched hyper Flux in G by john birch and are original to the guitar.
it has a wider than nrmal neck, ideal for fat fingers like mine, and is the loudest guitar i have ever heard.

i did post some pictures to the new owners of the john birch name but they never posted them. All they said was they had never seen the bridge design used.

regards

frank

Thanks Spock, can we see some pics of your Birch? What kind of amp do you use? My guitar is the Pro-Jet model with Gretsch mini Humbucker pick-ups. The "action" is quite good, actually tried a Fender "Strat" and chose the Gretsch! The little Fender amp is amazing! It's a tube-type, has 16 FX effects and 16 "voices", 30 watts peak, one 10" speaker. The look and sound is pure 70's vintage! Regards, Leipzig

Music is my favorite "doing" hobbie. I like to collect lots of old stuff. I have 3 small houses and like to fix them up. Ths one I live in is 210 yrs old. I have old stuff hanging all over the walls. Some of it German. My father collected bamboo fly rods. Maybe I got the collecting gene from him. I am in a band called "dirtgroove" check out our website.I am the one in tyedie shirts with the heer belt buckle. I am in my late forties and grew up on prog rock. Thanks, Ian.
