Joe, I'll have to check on that unmarked #2. It does look like a Foerster & Barth on a quick look. The catch is a different style but maybe they used more that one catch.
Sword-Fish, I bought most of my badges years ago when they were relatively cheap, well at least compared with today's prices. These badges were very common at shows. Now it seems they are all put away Frown.

Gents,

Here's one that I recently came across that I thought I'd add to this nice thread. Thanks for sharing all those fine examples with us, gents!

This one's unmarked, and has a distinctive, right-angled, "C" catch. Any ideas or opinions in general?

Thanks again for all the fine photographs! Smile

Bill

The catch has been seen on wound badges and other badges also. Luft. AA badge for one.

It has a distinctive notch at the base of the water plume. Ridges to the leaves. Fierce looking eagle.

Thank you for showing it Bill. I have seen at least two other examples like it. Consensus supports, that it's an early to mid war produced badge by an unknown maker. Not a common find.

This old thread was lurking in the back pages. Well worth another trip to the top.
Any additions, anyone?

Don, a fine example. Much better photographed than my example from page one.

Thank you.

Gaspare, my apologies for the late reply. To my knowledge there were no hollow back period produced Mine Sweeper/Sub Chaser/Escort Vessel war badges.
