Twins!. No bottle blondes here. These Kobers absolutely glow a golden yellow in the sunlight. Beautiful graining. Both still have their original lacquer on the grip. Show 'em if you got 'em!

Degens your grip looks like pear wood which is unusual for Kober. I believe mine are German beech.

I have been gone for quite some time, and yet when I return, I see some great daggers that make me miss my time gone.
lol, I was allways into the dark haired ladies, but this time, I like the BLONDES!

Very nice fair headed ladies boys.
Degens I notice you leave the build up of the years on your crossguards, lovely patina.I have a GEMBRUCH that I have posted and it too has never seen a duster for decades,I wonder what is the concensus on cleaning.

I clean the blades with a solution of hot water and sudsy ammonia. If you've never tried this you're in for a pleasant surprise. It takes off 70 years of gunk you can't even see, and it doesn't damage the burnishing. Semichrome is bad news. You wipe down a blade with that crap and you have removed the metal "skin" of the blade, plus it removes the burnishing. I never remove any patina. The dreaded green verdigris does get removed because it will pit nickel.

Great looking Kober Herman, the blade is a doozy, also "Th" gau marked..... always good to see.
On a totally different note and rather than start a new thread can somebody tell me how common a copper eagle is on a RZM SA, I just picked up a M7/66 Eick and thought these eagles are generally seen on early examples?.

This is the 'most blonde' SA I have - looks a little darker in the pics than it is in hand. Same type of wood as Skyline's I believe. It has the golden glow in the sun also.

Degens, i think you may find that you will find copper eagles more readily on RZM examples, and nickle silver on earlier ones..there are however, times where you will find a copper eagle on an earlier dagger..

Skyline,

I agree - two blondes in the sun is my kind of fun too! They may not be twins, they may or may not be bottle blondes (I'm not allowed to tell!), they definitely glow in the sunlight, and well . . . you asked, so I'm going to show 'em cause I got em too (at least one - she's my Wife!)!

Ha! Ha! Razz

Im not really in to SA daggers, but I have a couple of them and I agree; not many things beat a blonde! A blonde in the sun is REALLY hard to beat... The only thing I can imagine that would be slightly better is perhaps a readhead in the sun (yes... Im still talking about daggers)...
Great daggers displayed here, guys!
