I know that many of you have been waiting for what must seem like forever, but I'm doing everything I can to accomodate everyone who is interested in these rings. Three rings have been cast so far. Before they are finished, I decided to re-work the bevels on all the oak leaves by hand filing. This is being done on all 3 rings as well as my master. I'm having a new mold made that will reflect this and other small changes that will make a world of difference in the final product. Tomorrow I will post pics of this SAME exact ring that shows the improvements. Please trust me - the extra wait will be worth it and will probably only take a couple weeks until I have more "improved" rings cast. Of the first 3, one is mine, one is for Don Boyle, and the 3rd one is for a VERY famous WWII Nazi celebrity who's name I can't mention now, for their privacy, as they are still living. My rings aren't perfect, but they hopefully capture the basic feeling, are made entirely by hand, and will soon have an actual SS connection. When the next batch is finished and for sale, I will make a notification on the forum, but then will not conduct business on the forum, but will use the "for sale" section, if this forum has one. They will also appear on that other forum we all know. For those who know me, this venture has NEVER been about profit, merely interest in the subject, and the challenge of reproducing a VERY difficult item. Best Regards

Josias,

Is this ring cast in two halves? I notice what appears to be a seam running through the left Sig rune. Confused

Thank you for the very kind words. The "seam" you see in the Sig-Rune is the result of the rubber mold that is in two pieces, and is used to inject wax into. This is an area on the ring I should have cleaned up. Removing ALL flaws is problematic, as you wear away part of the design. I've only cast 3 rings so far. The 4th has some flaws, and I may turn it into a "worn" example. There are some problems with my mold, so I'm having another made. I've scalloped the leaves more before making the mold. The next batch will be better, and will be sold as per my waiting list. I'm constantly trying to improve this product, and I'll at least investigate the possibility of using a "pressing" method in the future. My next plan is to make a 30's ring, but have it cast FLAT also. If this is possible, then the mold design can have the mold flaws around the edge, NOT on the design. Hats off to "Hapur" for his excellent work. NOTE: The ring pictured is the 1st one made, and was made for Don Boyle as a "wearer". This next ring was made for the famous Nazi celebrity I mentioned earlier. The skull looks too big, but that's just the photo.

I must say that the skull on this copy looks funny and its not even clouse to original honor ring and steal nead some precise work, i have bought my copy from Chris and i can say that its way better copy that yours Josia, Criss and his father make a realy greath copy of honor ring and belive that even Otto Gahr woud be proud with the work they did!

I am interested in the debate on how the rings were actually made. Wanted to get some opinions here. There is this guy on WAF who says they stamped it out on a Hilo press machine straight like this.
Is this just another way of doing it? Didn't Don Boyle also interview a guy from Gahr who told him what the whole procedure was like?

Thanks!

Wagner - I don't object to criticism, but you have to be specific. If you don't like the skull, what is it about it you don't like? If you like Criss' rings more, at least show us a pic of his, or direct us to the photo. I am constantly trying to refine my product, with more variations on the way.

Wow do I disagree........
If this is Chris' ring, then he is the one who needs to work on his skull. Wink I never saw teeth like those, and the bones behind the skull are not angled "correctly" IMO.

My personal opinion is that Chriss and his dad made a greath yob with their honor ring but that dasent mean that Josia wont make god honor ring two but he steal have some details to repaire, for my taste specialy the skull nead some sharpening, it yust dasent have that SS Honor ring apiriance and i dont mean nothing bad with my statment, i woud like to buy one of his rings but after they will be completed! I belive that Josia now quit weal what i am tooking abouth and thats why he is not satisfayed with his first mold and he will make a new one but i woud only sugest that he must do perhaps yust a little bit of sharpening around the skull to gave it the right look!

I see the maine problem with fake honor rings with the lack of deatils, the mayority are made in a very sloopy way, specialy the skulls are always funny looking, or they are to big or to small or they look like some sort of a pirate skulls but not even one of thouse 50$ fake honor rings are not even clouse to originals in apiriance and that why i like Chriss Honor ring, its way better than any copy i have seen until now ( without superfakes off course but they are made do dicive and not to be sold as copys )and i belive that there are many collectors out there who woud be willing to pay a little extra money for a disent honor ring copy which woudnt scream at you, " i am a fake" but you woud nead a god look to determine that its not an original honor ring, that is the copy i am looking for and many other two!!!

I agree that the main issue with Chris's ring is the skull. I would buy one myself if this could be corrected.
Josias:
Perhaps you could get the molds for the Frank ring now that they should be available, correct the problems and go from there. Wink

"Mann" just posted pics of Chriss' ring from (http://daggers.infopop). In fairness, I believe this must have been an earlier project, because some kind souls e-mailed me pics of one of his rings, and it is very nice. Much different than these photos. I don't know how to transfer the pics to this forum, but anyone who is interested, just e-mail me at: [email protected] and I will forward them to you to post if you know how. Good job, Chriss!!

Josia, my first language is not english and perhaps thats why you missuderstud my post, i have personaly high respect towords your greath eford to produce an onest Honor ring, not yust a plaine copy but acual honor ring made from scrach and thats what Chriss and his dad already made and his finnal product is what it is and i for one like it and love to weare it on daily basis, the only thing that i have made after one year of constant wear was some blackness of the recess and that was all, the ring steal hade all details sharp as the day i receve it ( coparing to others i have bought, one from Germania International who have lost almoust all the deatils specialy around the skull and one from german maker who use plaine metal with 3% silwer and is like some ground dug ring now and that was only after one month my son was wearing for fun )and i have also observed your work for quit some time and i can also say that you are doing realy greath work and i woud love to have one of yours two, there is yust that little thing with the skull that buders me but i know that you will add it that extra crisp to look sharp as it shud!

Realy Josia, i like your ring but some thimes the words are not heard as they shud be and for that i apologies!!!

God work my frend, ceap doing it and i truly hope that one day you will sale me one of yours Honor ring, i know that its a long list but i will waith!!!

Josias may not want to "give up" a trade secret, but I have had great results with Griffith Silver Black. You can purchase it at this site:
