According the person I bought it from , it is a ring from the 40-ties , but imo. it could be later...... Marks; 333 and H 10 . The stone is about 20 x 16 mm , so it's a big stone and nicely placed in its setting.

On the rear the stone is kept on his place by a kind of pitch ; the contour of the pitch is visible through the stone .

333 is a gold content. Very low, less that 10k. Thats o.k. on a mans ring as it was longer wearing. Also good on a older lets say wartime ring when gold was used very sparingly..
The piece in the cartouche is more than likely Carnelian,,also popular wartime ...
Very nice ring..,G.

Thanks Kim . I like the little differences in color of this Carnelian. The way of engraving of the "F" is that the middle arm comes from behind to the front before the "B"; it has suggestion of depth . The upper arm of the "F" not . Is there more known about the preference of the Nazis for brown = braun ( Braunshirts, Braunes Haus, main Headquarters of the Nazi Party in Munich. ) like this Carnelian-stone because it is brown ? Cheers, Benten

Here is a carnelian cross my mother gave me before I went to England in 76. Carnelian only comes from the middle east. And was popular for ornamentation going back before Jesus's day. Your ring may have a Indianna Jones twist. If it was for a TR person.
